FBL Rules and Restrictions

Roster Rules

• Novice/Tier 3 Teams ONLY (unless specified otherwise in the event details)

• Must be registered with USA Ball Hockey
• Tier 3 NBHL Rosters and/or players preferred
• 15 Players and a Goalie per roster, no roster changes after event start

Game Time Regulations

• 3 Period Games, 10 minutes running clock each period

• Clock stoppages for last 3 minutes of the 3rd period (if within 2 goals), injuries, penalties, in between games
• 5 minute warm up per game

General Playing Rules

• No Icing EXCEPT for the last 3 minutes of the game, if within 2 goals
• No high sticking penalties (unless contact with player is made, assessed at minor/major based on if blood drawn)
• High stick contact with ball will result in whistle stoppage, face-off at nearest circle
• Penalties: Minor 1.5 minutes, Major 4 minutes
• if excessive time (20 seconds+) to line up for face-off, delay of game and minor penalty will be called
• if excessive time penalty called on team that is actively winning in their defensive zone, other team can elect for a penalty shot (instead of a minor penalty)
